The Perfect 3 Week Sri Lanka Backpacking Itinerary

I spent 3 weeks backpacking around Sri Lanka in January 2024 because I found a cheap flight there after visiting Nepal. Sri Lanka was never really on my radar before then but this tiny teardrop shaped country SHOULD be on everyone’s radar! Sri Lanka is known for its beautiful beaches, tea plantations, and safaris.

ULTIMATE 6 DAY AZORES ITINERARY (Sao Miguel)

I visited the Azores for the first time this April from Madrid and fell in love with the island of Sao Miguel. People from the U.S. love to describe the Azores or Madeira as the “Hawai’i of Europe” but the island is truly stunning and unlike anywhere I’ve been before. It doesn’t hurt that this island is fairly “undiscovered” (not to sound like Christopher Columbus) but I was impressed by how small the crowds were! There are so many reasons to visit the Azores right now and that’s just one of them.

FIGURING OUT BACKPACKING ROUTES SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO: COLOMBIA

Colombia was one of my favorite countries to figure out while backpacking. I spent a month and a half there in January – February 2022 for a total of 44 days. There are an endless amount of things to do in Colombia from beautiful beaches to hikes and deserts and islands. I started in Medellin and bused down to the Coffee Triangle and visited Salento (which is the town that inspired Encanto!) and Jardin, and then back to Guatape, and flew to Cartagena, and explored all along the northern coast such as Isla Rosario, Taganga, Santa Marta, into the La Guajira desert and back.

FIGURING OUT BACKPACKING ROUTES SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO: PERU

Peru is a very easy country to backpack, especially for beginner backpackers and travelers. I spent one month in Peru in June 2022 which is the off season because it is winter but it makes it easier to get tickets to Machu Picchu. The bus system in Peru is also very simple to navigate and…

HOW TO TREK MACHU PICCHU VIA THE SALKANTAY TREK

This post contains affiliate links. Visiting Machu Picchu is a dream for most people as it’s 1 of the 7 World Wonders. Trekking Machu Picchu was one of the hardest and most rewarding things I’ve ever done through the Salkantay Trek. The Inca Trail used to be the most popular trek to get to Machu…

After spending a month and a half backpacking hostels as a female solo budget traveler, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite hostels in places you should definitely visit in Ecuador. Although it’s a pretty small country, there is a ton to see and very backpacker friendly. The bus system is great and makes it…

How To Protect Yourself as a Female Solo Traveler on Top of Insurance

This is a sponsored post. As a young female solo traveler who likes to take risks, I was never worried about any health risks while I was traveling because I always had the mentality that “nothing would happen to me”. I was so confident about this that I wouldn’t even buy health insurance and my…

ADD THIS TO YOUR COLOMBIA BUCKET LIST – 4 DAY LA GUAJIRA DESERT ITINERARY

After backpacking a month and a half in Colombia, my biggest recommendation is a place that I’d never heard of until I got to Colombia – La Guajira desert. There are so many things to see and places to visit in Colombia so it’s hard to choose if you have a limited amount of time…
